On March 21st, we came together for a truly special celebration — our World Down Syndrome Day Party — and what a joyful day it was! Hosted by the Down Syndrome Association of Emerald Central (DSAEC), this event brought together families, friends, and community members for a heartwarming day of fun, connection, and awareness.
The room was filled with smiles, music, laughter, and of course, LOTS of colorful socks! We celebrated the unique talents and vibrant spirits of our loved ones with Down syndrome through games, dancing, crafts, and some unforgettable moments.
Highlights from the day included:
- 🎶 Live music and dancing that had everyone on their feet
- 🧁 Delicious snacks and sweet treats
- 🧦 A rainbow of Lots of Socks in honor of WDSD
- 🎨 Art and craft stations that brought out the creativity in all of us
- 💬 Powerful stories and shared experiences from our amazing community
World Down Syndrome Day is about recognizing the value and beauty of every individual, and this party reminded us all how strong, joyful, and connected our community truly is.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, support, and shine a light on inclusion. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
With love and gratitude,
The DSAEC Team
